Solo traveler. Great location. only bad thing is Wi-Fi is a little weak.

Location, beach and shops are steps away. and Price is perfect. Staff is also incredible.

Beautiful beach...nice place to stay...some issues

For Bavaro the hotel is well located on one of the wider and nicer sections of the beach...because the road comes in over there there's a lot of activity and things to do. The beach was quite nice...the place was very nice-we had an efficiency with two bedrooms/2 baths and a living room/kitchen-sink, fridge, gas 4 burner cooktop.....just steps from the beach...considered a "beach view apartment"...on the first floor. Security seemed to be ever present at night....and there was a gate at the end of the driveway to keep cars out that didn't belong. Maria in the cleaning staff was helpful with providing extra pillows and the like....beds were comfortable...kind of firm, but good. There was no cleaning during our stay, but a broom was available...and you'll need it for the ever present sand. Kitchen had the basics for cooking...I could make eggs and coffee in the morning...I wake early so I need that ability....and the beach was awesome for those sunrise walks. Oh, there's an awesome beachfront restaurant called L'Osteria with awesome pizza and some great pasta dishes...prices are good here and the guys that run it are very nice-funny too.

When I booked through booking.com I was given a price, but the charge was going to be made when I checked in....well, let me tell you to try to pay in advance in US dollars or whatever your currency is. See, when we checked in they they billed us in Dominican Pesos not at the prevailing rate of 55/USD...but at 58/USD...basically they added 6% to the bill. There were some other shenanigans, but just be aware that you will likely pay more than what you thought you would....this added $63 to my bill...just one of those BS things you may have to deal with. Punta Cana is a tourist trap...you don't see the ocean at all unless you're actually at a beach...it's not like you can be driving down a road and see the ocean in the distance or just randomly walk on to a public beach...there's always a wall or something that keeps it from being visible(usually a resort behind the wall, but who knows)...you drive down side roads to get to places...walls all around...get to a gate to get in somewhere and unless you have a car you're either trapped or need a cab or something to go elsewhere....the closer to the beach you are the more expensive things tend to be....on the way in I suggest stopping at Jumbo along the way-it's a real store that seems to be used by the locals and has the best prices. I rented a car while there...driving is hairy to say the least...bikes are always narrowly missing you and you have to be careful when turning out of a lane so as not to get hit by an oncoming bike...it happened to me once...I saw it happen to others...you get used to the cadence of things and it helps if you're used to driving in heavy traffic or city conditions. Renting a car is another scammy thing that can get more expensive...don't rent a bike unless you have real experience with one. Be aware also of the presence of sargasso seaweed that seems to be hitting the shores of the Caribbean and Atlantic....the stuff piles up every single day....

Close to the beach Location have in less than 5 minutes walk ATM, restaurant, pharmacy and several bars

Bathroom was not working and we lost a lot of time while they were fixing it, they should have more care previous check-in The room is old and windows does not work properly, They charge you with 50 USD in advance for any damage, something that I see odd since the furniture is falling apart

Location on the beach, basic motel style

Location! Right on the beach, especially as we were in a beachfront room. The room was basic but ok. The place really has potential if they made some improvements and refurbishment.

Check in and check out is through like a bank teller window reception. It's very weird and cold. My total charge was converted from USD to Dominican Pesos at their own ridiculous rate, which had built in $30 commision. I dont know why they even quote in USD to start with. Felt like a scam. The pillows were flat and not comfortable.

Great location , would be nice a service like a normal hotel.

The Location is excellent!

Poor service, 1 small shampoo 1 conditioner, we didnt have a plastic cup where to put our toothbrush. Got 2 botles of water and 2 coffe for all our stay there. So they renew only toilet paper. The room they cleaned only when we asked for , the cleaning ladies are using a cheap soap like a dish washer to clean everythink even you will pay extra for electricity and desinfection when you arrive there. So was nice at least to use a desinfection product. Places to eat around are very poor quality but prices like normal restaurant. Anyway if u dont mind about service but you want to be on the beach is perfect.

Some room for improvement

The view and location are really fantastic. You are right next to all the big hotels but with much less guests. The rooms were very large, almost entire bungalows.

The room is cleaned every other day. While that's okay and written in the rules it's not okay to have to go after housekeeping every other day to make sure they do their job. Also the boat guys are a real pain. There's a large group of boat trip sellers that seats right in front of the hotel, in front of the sea, destroying the beautiful view. They are constantly going after people trying to sell their trips. Yelling is constant. The hotel even allows them to come to your beach chair, which should be totally forbidden. Also the boats that pass nearby with the loud music absolutely destroy the peaceful vibe. Another point that was sad for me, they charge you a deposit of $40 on the first day. Which seems to be against booking.com rules. Finally, on the last day, we asked for late check-out but they still charged me $40 even though I switched from a room that was more expensive (Beachfront Villa Junior Suit) to one in the back which should by itself be enough to cover at least another night at the hotel.

Really calm place, close to the beach. Couple of restaurants inside the resort.It has its own private part of the beach where nobody will stress you:)

Cleaning can definitely be improved! I found some hair on my pillow just after checking in. Also the bedsheets have stains which makes me believe it was not changed....or the washing machines are not working properly.

I had the worst stay ever, there were roaches in our room the whole bathroom ceiling was coming down, with bugs crawling out of it. The sinks were stained and I sanitary. The shower was stinging, there was no reception after 8pm what ever you need, your basically stuck, after 8 because reception is gone. WiFi doesn’t work, they advertised a pool they, didn’t have one. It’s the worst place ever!!

Its right in front of the beach. Unfortunately the beach was so dirty with seaweed and other stuff. They said it was because of the rain the past week.

In my opinion the village was overpriced for the quality of it and the lack of service from the guy at the reception. The knob in the bathroom was broken. They didn’t fix it even though we stayed 3 days. The bathtub had mold and rusted shower. The a/c worked but didn’t cool the room enough. It was too old like from World War II. The front doors of the village had a key lock was so rusted that sometimes had to do magic to get the key out or unlock it. They dont have a restaurant opened for lunch. My little girl and I had to take a 20 minutes walk to get to a decent restaurant to buy some lunch and then return to the village and the only restaurant opens at 6 and the food not so great. The next day we went to have breakfast at Joy’s a small and pretty cafe inside the villages so the cappuccino was great the breakfast menu ok but everybody including us had to return our pancakes even though the said they were “homemade” because of the funny taste. They were flat, chewy and acid like they were sitting in the fridge for days. The passion fruit jam was amazing though and the butter had a creamy and homemade taste.

We only stayed on night so I can't comment on the facilities as we didn't really use them but we had a beautiful studio apartment and the location was brilliant - right near one of the nicest parts of the beach. It was peaceful and comfortable and clean and beautifully decorated. We had a lovely balcony and terrace. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

our superior beach front villa sounded idyllic. it was poorly furnished , bathroom were dated and no hot water. very noisy surroundings very loud people walking around and shouting after midnight. beach was littered with trash...

villas need updating and modernising to charge what you do is extortionate. walked past the swimming pool early in the morning on our departure and there were pizza boxes next to the steps of the pool

Very poor furniture, the room was not what I booked, the bathroom had not a single huck to hang the towels and its cleanness condition was poor (hairs from precedent guest). Definitively too expensive for what it is.

It was right on the beach. And from the outside the villas looked nice.

The staff was rude and unhelpful. There wasn't hot water and stove didn't turn on. Roaches all over kitchen. Pictures and overview of the place are just a lie to get you in the door.
